Izabella Miko

Born in what was still Communist Poland to thespian parents, Izabella Miko could dance before she could walk.

At the age of 15 she was recruited by the School of American Ballet – New York to study on a full scholarship.  In 1997 Izabella had to take a break due to the rigorous training and returned to Warsaw.  While recovering at home, a casting director, who was working with her parents, asked if she would play a part in the TV movie LITHUANIA YOU’RE MY MOTHERLAND.  She accepted not knowing where else to turn.  Once bitten by the acting bug and shortly before her 18th birthday, Izabella headed back to America, only this time as an actor.  She immediately began training at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.  She soon landed her first American movie playing the heartbreaker “Cammie” in Jerry Bruckheimer’s COYOTE UGLY.

Then came notable films like BYE BYE BLACKBIRD, opposite Derek Jacobi and Michael Lonsdale; FLAKES opposite Zooey Deschanel and Christopher Lloyd;  CRASHING opposite Campbell Scott;  Showtime’s THE HOUSE OF USHER and a recurring role in HBO’s Emmy nominated series DEADWOOD.

Miko’s continued success in film includes credits in THE FORSAKEN, PARK and SAVE THE LAST DANCE:2.

Izabella recently launched her environmental foundation, EkoMiko, and created the EkoMiko candle line – a luxury body candle bringing green consciousness to the candle market, while raising money for the environment.

She was most recently seen on the NBC series THE CAPE opposite David Lyons and Summer Glau.
