Bradd Wesley Fillmann has spent the last decade designing and building sets for features, commercials, television, short film and music videos. He attended Columbia College Chicago where he earned his BFA in Film and Video, graduating at the top of his class.
In 2004, after working for a while in Chicago, he made the 2000 mile migration to Los Angeles. Leaving behind cold weather and a scattered independent film scene, Bradd has set his roots firmly in the Southern Californian soil and hasn’t looked back since.
He deeply believes that a production designer’s duty lies in bringing to life sets that tell stories in silent, powerful ways. The details that he seeks to layer into his work offer glimpses at the underlying reality of the characters and are just as important to him as color palettes and blue prints. He has worked on both subtle and bombastic projects, always allowing the tone and nature of the script determine his vision. GARDENS OF THE NIGHT (2007), LA VIE EN ROSE (2007), MAGIC MAN (2009) and MORNING (2010) to name a few.
An avid collaborator, he works closely with directors and cinematographers to create environments that facilitate the varied necessities of production while always holding true to the creative finish line.
Bradd loves filmmaking, a good challenge and the smell of fresh ink.
